Home security is an important part of planning a trip, if you are getting ready for a weekend getaway or an extended vacation. Summer home of the summer for a robbery, a break-in is usually peaking in July and August.

Lights on timers: Improve the security of the home by placing lights in the main living area with a timer, and set it to simulate occupancy.
Do not broadcast your absence: A thief can easily be led by the missed call in your absence, so turn off the ring and keep your messages to answer every day to play. And never leave a message, or post on Facebook or Twitter page saying, “I went on vacation.”
Adjust the Blind: Leave the Blind and curtains in normal positions as possible, so as not to expose items of interest to prying eyes.
Valuables safe: Protect your valuables from theft (securities, jewelry, etc..) In a safe deposit box or home safe.
Disconnect your computer: Make sure your computer is turned off and disconnected from the Internet, especially if it contains personal information. Also removed or damaged bills and receipts signs add to the risk of identity theft.
Set the alarm: Activate your alarm system, and make sure to notify the security company the day you go home and give temporary contact information.
Lock: Ensure that all windows and doors are locked before you leave for a safe holiday. It may sound basic, but all it takes is one of them open to welcome the intruders and threatened the security of the home.
Outside of Your Home
Trim trees: Complete all acts on the main page before you go, with special attention given to trimming of trees and bushes near windows and entry (thief does not need much to hide behind). Then get rid of all the yard equipment and tools.
